A Place of Refuge

I found Jackson in his toy bin playing. He was in there to get away from Oliver and Ava who are constantly following him around (he is a popular big brother)...15 minutes of peace!

Our Happy Guy

Sorry about the drool, but this so "captures" Oliver. We just had to share it. We sure love this little guy!

Our Happy Girl

We weren't sure Ava could possibly get any cuter, but she surprises us daily. She is such a little sweetheart...so much fun.

Guys night out to the races

Jacob took Jackson to the car races on Satuday night with Uncle "Dano" and Grandpa Ellis. They had such a fun time. The cars were fast, LOUD, and they even crashed (which Jackson got a kick out of). They stayed out late, ate "fun" food, and just loved the whole event. Jackson came home saying, "1,2,7,7,5,6 (numbers of the cars racing), Crash, crash, Vroomm, Vroom". I got sound effects and the hand motions to go with them. He just loved it!

Friendly Fight

Oliver and Ava want whatever toy the other one has. It is a daily battle between the two of them who wins...sometimes Oliver sometimes Ava. They go back and forth all day...at least it keeps them busy!

Saturday at the Bay

Jacob and Jackson spent most of Saturday morning hanging out at Cowichan Bay. They had a blast. They picked apples and just hung out and enjoyed the fabulous fall weather. Jackson really liked playing in the mud from the tide being out. His "happy" boots got stuck in the mud and Jacob had to trudge out into the mud flats to save him. They both came home, muddy, stinky, and wet. A definite male bonding morning!

Beautiful BC Morning

Jackson and I went for a walk this morning and I just wanted to share some of the pictures. Jackson got to pet a slug (which he gets a kick out of), eat blackberries (which grows like weeds here), play in the mud and splash in the puddles...a successful morning!

Our Little Canadian

Little Jackson really is half Canadian. He loves the different food here, specifically the chocolate. He gets a SMARTIE (M&M equivalent) every time he has success on the big boy toilet and it has worked like a charm. He loves the weather, which allows more "outside" time with dad and grandpa. He has even started to talk like a Canadian... Canadians seem to always end a statement with a question (ie: eh? or right?). Jackson especially talks "Canadian" when he is talking to his Grandpa Jackson. He says things like, "You like tractors, right? and I help you good in the garden, right?". He is such a cutie, eh!

Big Boy Jackson

We are so proud of Jackson. It has taken a little over a week, but he is out of diapers! Here is a picture of him with a new tractor and getting to watch CARS on the "pooputer" (his treat for being successful). He also is insisting on putting his pants back on all by himself, so we wanted to share with you his "achievement". He is just adorable

Twin Update

We can't believe that Oliver and Ava are almost 10 months old! They are sure fun. They both are crawling and getting into just about everything. It is a hoot to watch them follow eachother around. They do everything together and usually want to play with the same toy at the same time (here we go!). They have such different personalities and dispositions which just adds to the entertainment. We sure love them!

Afternoon Traditions

Well, since I shared Jacob and Jackson's morning ritual I thought that I would share with you their afternoon one. Every day after work and before dinner, Jacob takes Jackson for a walk down the driveway and to the river to throw rocks in the water. They both look forward to this everyday. They talk and just do guy things like pet slugs and beat things with sticks. The other day Jacob asked Jackson who made all these beautiful things (refering to the trees and fields, etc). Jackson didn't answer at first so Jacob said that Jesus made all of these things and Jackson turned to him, looked up, shook his head and said, "No, mommy made all of these things - not Jesus". Too cute.

Mini Me

This is somewhat of a morning ritual for these two...a bowl of cereal, a good read (Jacob is reading TIME and Jackson is reading Car and Driver), and good company. A great way to start out the day!

What A Pair

After dinner and bath, Oliver and Ava love to laugh and play, especially with their big brother Jackson. They get so worked up sometimes it is hard to put them to bed!

The Munchkins

I tried to take the kids picture on Sunday and this is the best that I could get. They are so wiggly. Oliver kept grabbing Jackson which would make him laugh and squirm which would cause Ava to move farther down his lap and so on...maybe next time!
