early october...

Easily one of my most favourite time of the year on the island.  It was such a beautiful day.  We just had to go and visit a new park in the are.  We fell in love.

34...

celebrating with all the family that near.
yep I am 34.  I am ok with 34.  I think it is going to be an awesome age (last year in my early 30's)!  I love that I am growing older with my guy all the while surrounded by my babies.  I am one lucky lady... Oh and tomorrow I get to spend the day in Victoria, sans kids, with Jacob...double awesome!

And then they were six...

The two of them right before the party began...can you tell how excited they were?!

The "boys" table

Lucy loving all the chaos!

Oh Gwen...

The "girls" table

Auntie Emily made them each their own fancy cakes, they were thrilled to say the least!

I am amazed that these two are six years old today! You both bring so much joy to our family!  Thank you Oliver for your compassionate heart and your helpful attitude and Ava thank you for your sweet disposition, your creative mind and love for all things beautiful.  Life in the Ellis home would not be the same without you both.  We sure do love you!

Name Sake...

Each of our kids has been given either their first or middle name (and in some cases both) after someone special in our lives.  Our little Gwen is named after this darling lady, Great Grandma Gwen.  We love her so very much and love that we have a little girl that carries her name.  Gwen thinks it is pretty neat too that she and great grandma share the same name!

We had the opportunity to bless our Lucy when we were in Utah.  The Jeppsen's were gracious enough to let us have this special event in their home.  It was so great to be surrounded by so much family and friends.  It truly was a special day.  Thank you Heather for all of your work to pull this off with so little notice and thank you to all who were able to share this day with us.  It was perfect.

Meeting Lucy

At the start of this new year, around the blog world/internet, choosing a "word" for the year seemed to be the thing to do. I never officially choose a word I guess, but the word "whole" kept coming back to me. Now I know why. Having this little girl come into our family has made us complete, she has made us "whole" and we can all feel that and feel unbelievably blessed to have her here with us now. The spirit that she brings with her is palpable and we all just gravitate to her!

Merry Christmas Uncle Daniel!

For Christmas, each of the Ellis families were to take a picture of them with a word that would spell out a christmas message for Elder Ellis. We were given the word "merry" and thought that going to Maple Bay to take the picture would be fitting since we spent so much time there hanging out with Uncle Daniel. Merry Christmas Elder Ellis!

a ritual

You can bet that most days this summer, after dinner, you would find us on our front porch having a cold treat. Seriously (mostly) every day!

Our Morning Walks

We loved getting up early in the morning and going for walks with the kids down the canal and around the places I used to roam as a kid. We would always bring apples to munch on and the kids liked to share with the neighbors horse! We enjoyed these quiet mornings so much we think this needs to become a tradition when we visit down south!
