Since the nights here don't get dark until around 10 p.m. right now we let the kids play quietly in their room while listening to stories until much later than 7 (their original bedtime). The kids are quite happy with this arrangement and parents too since it still allows Jacob and I to have our time together in the evenings uninterrupted. The boys play of choice, is of no surprise, LEGO (the girls usually choose puzzles and books) and so in the morning they have some pretty neat creations to play with (i.e. battle with)!
